Rosebud Sioux Veteran Seeks Place to put Tiny House

I am writing on behalf of Dale Novak, a Rosebud Sioux veteran, who has lived in Iowa City for more than ten years. Dale owns an 8×24 studio and is looking for a location close to town. His place was built with an Iowa City permit and has electric.

I know Dale to be a quiet neighbor who just wants a safe place where he can lock the door at night. He loves the outdoors. He has lived on our property for a couple of years, but we are planning to move, and are trying to help him find a new place.

I noticed that your website shows the tiny house in Doug’s back yard. I don’t know Doug, but remember his back yard because Dale had a room in Doug’s house for a few months some years back. Dale says that Doug left on a mission trip.

Thank you for your consideration,

Veronika

Happy Couple Seeks Iowa City Location for Tiny House

My name is Michelle and I just moved to Iowa City a couple weeks ago from Buffalo, NY.

My girlfriend and I are going to be building a tiny home for ourselves and have the tentative plans of having the home ready to move in by the end of August, 2016. We’re having the shell built by a company and then will work on the interior throughout the summer.

Now, we have floor plans, financial plans, living plans but what we don’t have is space or land or any idea where our home will go (kind of important).

I’m reaching out to you to see if you can help us with what our options are here in Iowa City and perhaps educate us on the zoning laws here and what we would need to do to be on either our own property or someone else’s property.

Thank you in advance for your help. Also, if there is a mailing list for events that pertain to tiny house living in, around or near Iowa City, please add me to it.

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you!

Here’s the link to the ad I posted on Craigslist:

I posted the same ad in a couple different forums.

Namaste!

I am 42 year old professional female who has just recently moved to Iowa City to be closer to my girlfriend.

We are currently in the process of building a tiny home (Will be on an 8′ x 26′ trailer, approximately 14′ from ground to top of roof) I’ll include pictures of what it will potentially look like.

PICTURES WON’T BE OF ACTUAL HOUSE. (see listing for photos)

The plan is to have it completed and ready to move in by August of 2016. It will be a mostly off grid structure, meaning we will be using solar power and have a water tank system with no need for septic (Composting toilet)

Our hopes are to find someone who lives in or very near to Iowa City that has a spot of land where we can park our home and live in for the next year or so. In exchange we would offer a monthly rental fee for the space.

We are a very environmentally conscious couple looking to give back more than what we take from our beautiful planet. Living a sustainable lifestyle is very important to us. We also have a small dog. Very well trained and quiet.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact us and we’d love to discuss the opportunity further with you.

Thank you for your time.
